Animation Strategies
Medical Animation
Science happens at a scale too small for us to see. If there is a process, MoA, or product that involves cells, molecules, or proteins, visualizing them with 3D animation is incredibly helpful to communicate how things work. Use these videos for product pages, conferences, and presentations!

3D Product Visualization
I specialize in animating life science equipment. Your product solves problem, so let’s show it off in eye catching and more importantly, informative ways.

Explainer Videos
If your company has a process, method, or needs to communicate what your brand is all about, 2D explainer videos can paint broad stroakes about your mission or get into the nitty gritty of how you will solve a porblem. I can combine 2D and 3D animation to create a system of content that covers all your marketing and educational bases.

Workflow
1. Concept
After a short intro call where we discuss what success looks like for you, I’ll brainstorm concepts, themes, and styles.
Deliverables will be formulated and a project plan will be set in place.
2. Shot List
After the project is launched, I will send out a script template that we will fill out collaboratively based on previous discussions. For each shot, there is a description, text on screen, and voiceover columns.
Feedback is generated at this step from the client to ensure that the content and flow of the piece is successful.
3. Storyboard
In this step, each shot is sketched out based on the script in 2D. Every shot with different characters, moving parts, and key points should be illustrated before any 3D work is started.
Another round of feedback is presented here in order to make sure the animation flows smoothly and that visual communication is on point.
4. Style Frames and Visualization
Now the fun begins! The look and feel of an animation can be completely tuned to your company’s branding guidelines. In this stage, simple still frames are turned into 3D images with textures, shading, and lighting to give you an idea of what the final animation will look like.
Feedback is very important at this stage to ensure that the proper look and feel of the animation is in place before time consuming rendering is started.
5. Voiceover
If a voiceover is desired, this step actually begins happens as soon as the shot list is finished. A scratch VO will be recorded to help establish pacing and timing, and then based on your requirements, a professional voiceover can be recorded.
6. Animation
The bulk of the work takes place here, from designing 3D assets, to rigging them for motion and incorporating physics simulations. Keyframes will be added, and scenes will be put together from various shots. An animatic will be sent for feedback with simple flat materials to ensure the motion is correct. Feedback here is essential.
After animation, the long rendering process begins. Afterwards, the rendered files are composited together into the final video piece, complete with effects, motion graphics, text, and sound.
